w/mo soj ids farming
im wondering if my concept build would work:
this would b used for ids farming, mostly solo only.this is what i currently use with no sucess so far.
w/mo
wyvren helm sub absorb
glads halbruk sub absorb
glads gauntlets sup vigor
wyvren leggings sub absorb
wyvren boots minor tactics
Equipment: sword: sundering 20^19 hp+21 sword
shields: +30hp always +7 v dwarves
collectors +60hexed -3dmg hexed
Collectors +45,-3 dmg stance
stats:8/9healing
9strength
9 swords
11tactis
skills: sprint, doylak sig, sever artery, endure pain, healing signet, mending, healing breeze, rebirth(for dual)or holy veil.
im thinking of swiching off my sword point for smiting and using shield of judgement to kill the imps. i would also lower my tactics or strength attributes 3 lvls and putting a sup run in place of one of my sup absorbs. the points taken away from strength or tactics would be put into smiting for a stronger soj. I saw a 55 monk solo ids farm video here on guru who used shield of judgement and had good sucess with it. I would trade in my sever artery for soj btw.
if you think this is possible or a good build please post.

SoJ wont stand a chance, unless you will keep out of spellcasting range, thus not being able to use your sword. So a 55 monk would have more success with that. My W/Mo build... works like a charm:
14 Strength
9 axe / sword
8 healing
rest tactics
- Desperation
- Watch Yourself
- Defy Pain
- Dolyak
- Balthazars Spirit
- Live Vicariously
- Mending
- Sprint

It means that using 1 Superior Absorbtion instead of 3 Superior Absorbtion will yield the same results. AKA they don't stack.

do different absorb levels stack such as 1 minor, 1 major, etc. adding up to a 6 absorb?

1 rune of sup absorption = -3 physical damage per hit anywhere
10 runes of sup absorption = -3 physical damage per hit anywhere
100....you get the idea
all that aside: the amount of physical damage you'll need to resist/reduce when fighting 'ICE IMPS' would be more to the point wouldn't it? (hint: ice is COLD)

First of all, this thread isnt about my armour runes. Granted, i probalby will mix up my runes. But this is about whether my build will work. For the above post, i am a w/mo with no elemental resistance skils to that i know of. also, if there are other skills i should use besids sever artery, or an axe tactic i should use it would b helpfull to know.

allrigght i just tried it and it went terribly. My soj didnt last long enough or do enough damage, even though i had 11 smiting. Also, the casting is easily interrupted my malestrom. I didnt have any of my sword skills, so i got murdered. If anyone want to try to refine this, you can. I give up.

Healing Hands?
Honestly though I would just go with the war/me combo.

Here is a Wa/Mo Build that is better than the mesmer, in my opinion.
skills:
live vicarously
Mending
sprint
doylak
defy pain
severe artery
galrath slash
watch yourself
The negative to this build is it is weak in the run. But if you just use your brain and your not an aggro monkey, you shouldn't have a problem.
The reason this build is better than the Wa/Me is because of the trolls. The negative to elemental resistance is the negative to physical. When ever I go with a Wa/Me they would always say attack the trolls first. I would just giggle and run right past them. In this build the trolls don't bother you. Just sprint to the center of the imps. Only use live vicarously when you get to the imps.

it has a lower damage output than my build... also there is no energy regen. My build even has an energy degen, but I always have maximum energy

ya, rebelhero i used your build with a few changes, and it worked pretty good. The problem with my build is that my soj was just too weak. 55 monks can pull this off bcuz thewy can heal themselfs enough to stay alive, and they can use a sup smiting rune. A war doent have near enough smiting, healing, or energy to do this.
